Shell has been active in Australia since 1901 in a diverse range of activities and businesses including exploration, oil and gas production, refining, supplying, manufacturing and marketing a range of oil products. Today, Shell Australia is headquartered in Perth and its business activities are focused on exploring and producing oil and gas.
In 2014 Shell sold the majority of its Australian downstream businesses, with the exception of the Aviation business and a lubes oil blending plant to Vitol. Vitol operating under the name Viva Energy Australia will be a licensee of the Shell brand so the sale means that Shell fuel and lubricants products and technology will continue to be available to motorists and customers.
Our core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people form the basis of the Shell General Business Principles.
